BAT-VIEWS: A roundup of this week’s Batman titles

The Thanksgiving week is a really weird one. It makes for a short work week, which is nice, but the four day weekend, where we stuff our gullets with turkey and spend the next three days in a stuffing filled haze can be a bit overwhelming. Top Ten Comic Covers of the ’80s

When I volunteered for putting together a Top 10 list, my first inclination was this would be an easy process that essentially wrote itself. Instead, I found myself pouring through back issues and digging into the graphic archives of the Interwebs. My mission statement was clear: The Top 10 Comic Book Covers of the 80s. Who knew that it would be such a rigorous process, eventually taking me approximately 3 hours to compose?

MAJOR SPOILERS POLL OF THE WEEK
DC Comics had a great idea a few years ago where it would introduce a new line of comics under the All-Star banner and feature many of their characters in a whole new light.  First out of the gate were the powerhouse duo of All-Star Superman (Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely) and All-Star Batman and Robin (Frank Miller and Jim Lee).  Sounds like a sure fire hit, right?  While Morrison did complete his Superman maxi-series, Miller and Lee floundered in getting their ASBAR out on time.  But where not here to discuss release dates, and/or failures.  We want to know which of the All-Star series you preferred most – All-Star Superman, or All-Star Batman and Robin.

Great show. How in the heck was Slappy able to call in live?

Reply Stephen Schleicher: December 1, 2010 at 10:46 am

He didn’t call in live… he just called at the right time…

All Star Batman and Robin has 10 issues out already and apparently (at least) 4 completely finished and on the shelf waiting to go to print.

After listening to this podcast, I’m very glad I didn’t continue reading ASSuperman. It sounds like something I wouldn’t care for.

Reply Matthew Peterson: December 1, 2010 at 12:34 pm

You missed a good show, sir… All-Star Supes was quite good.

Reply Blackthunder01: December 1, 2010 at 1:56 pm

I’m glad you enjoyed it. However, this isn’t the type of Superman I like. I’m not a fan of old school when it comes to him.

Reply Kirby: December 1, 2010 at 11:47 am

Hey, just finished listening, and I think what you had to say was totally valid. Great podcast by the way!

Slappy thing was interesting, complete suprise.
