After Ultimate Comics comes Ultimate Comics: Ultimates

Marvel announced yesterday that following the end of the Ultimate Spider-Man: Death of Spider-Man event, the company will launch Ultimate Comics: Ultimates. No, really. It’s all part of the Ultimate Comics Universe Reborn initiative and it kicks off in the Ultimates ongoing series written by Johnathan Hickman.

“We’re building a cohesive universe in that all the Ultimate books will be tied in pretty tightly, and we’ll be playing off each other,” Hickman said, noting that he and the other creators — who will be revealed throughout this week — look forward to working together.”

According to Marvel Editor Mark Paniccla, things will be more cohesive going forward.

“This is the characters reacting to the death of Spider-Man, there’s a lot of introspection but there’s also a lot of set-ups,” Paniccia said. “This is a miniseries you’re not going to want to miss.”

Ultimate Comics; Ultimates #1 arrives in August.

Im pretty sure they have said in the past Ultimate Comics were going to tie together and failing at it pretty badly. That being said, with Hickman and how his mind works, I can actually believe it.
